"A new university rising on the edge of the Red Sea and a transformed industrial building in central Connecticut may be geographically distant, but the facilities share similar honors in R&D Magazine's 2011 Laboratory of the Year competition.
Laboratory of the Year awards were given to both new construction and renovated facilities. The King Abdullah University of Science and Technology in Thuwal, Saudi Arabia, achieved 2011 Laboratory of the Year honors for new construction. The University of Connecticut Health Center's Cell and Genome Sciences Building in Farmington is the 2011 Laboratory of the Year for a renovated facility."
